Denali flight tour: air time, fares and what an hour costs

The aircraft, once and plainly. These are planes on skis, not rotor-wing aircraft. No rotor flight over this mountain is on sale here at the moment, and the two listings that used to sell one are off the market. The plane does what people want from the other machine: it flies the range from a town, and its skis let it stop on snow.

Minutes are the honest unit. Fares differ by $240 from bottom to top here, and durations differ by an hour. Divided out, the range is narrower than the ticket prices suggest: $202.67 to $335.00 an hour. That is the number to compare when a Denali flight tour is being weighed against another.

Talkeetna is the whole geography. All five fares leave from there: about 180 km north of Anchorage by road, and about 250 km south of the park entrance. The mountain is flown from its south side, which is why the town on the river matters more to your day than the park sign does.
